Blackthorpe House is a charming and recently renovated Georgian house near Bury St. Edmunds. Situated next door to Blackthorpe Barn and arts Centre, it is ideally placed for the summer concerts that take place there every year, and its popular Christmas fairs.
The house is five minutes from junction 45 of the A14, about 40 minutes from Cambridge and a day's racing at Newmarket. The coastal towns of Southwold and Aldeburgh are an hour away. The medieval town of Lavenham is 30 minutes drive, and of course, Bury St. Edmunds, with its beautiful cathedral and abbey gardens, is on our doorstep. So too, is Ickworth House, one of The National Trust's finest properties. Blackthorpe House is well placed to take advantage of all that Suffolk has to offer.

Bed and Breakfast: As Blackthorpe House is Georgian, none of the bathrooms are en suite, but each room has a bathroom exclusively for the use of the people in the room. There are 3 double rooms available. All our beds are hotel-quality Hypnos beds, and all rooms have televisions, internet access and kettles. Breakfast is served in the conservatory between 8am and 10am. We serve a continental breakfast, including cereals, yogurts, ham and cheese, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs from our own hens. Rates are from £80 – £132 per night, per room (inc.vat and breakfast). Normally, we require a two night minimum stay over weekends. Children sharing parent's room: £25 per child.
